BIO

  Born in Olean, NY, a small town on the border of Pennsylvannia, singer/songwriter Margot Lane was given her first keyboard at age 8 and started to write out melodies and lyrics.
After moving to Buffalo, NY at age 11, she spent many years studying classical music on piano and within those years furthered studies on violin at age 16. She studied classical at Woodshed Music School and with local instructors within the Buffalo NY area.

In 2003 she became obsessed with electronic/trance/dance music and grew a collection of both digital and analog synths from owning a Yamaha DX-7 , Korg M1, MiniMoog , and a Roland XK-7;
progressing to different genres and learned from Blues and Jazz to Country and Rock from so
me phenomenal musicians including "The W." - a blues hammond B3 legend.

     In 2009, Margot entangled herself in music, projects including fronting the "Murderous Moppets" . A band centered on mixing classic pop/rock with folk rock. Through local shows and more studio work, Margot became more of a hired gun with many musical projects. In between she did a number of solo shows featuring solo compositions on a 5-string electric violin, and teaching 4-5 days a week with a full schedule each day.
This propelled a solo instrumental music project called "Lethean" which included Margot playing all instruments.
( Album is set for completion in summer 2012. )
Later that year, Margot packed up her keyboards and violins and drove out to LA to further pursue a music career.

  Since that time she has worked on scores and played live with some of the best musicians. Including playing on a soundtrack for the movie "With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story"; opening for Dave Lombardo's side band, Fantomas; playing consistently with The Fullerton College Orchestra with surf guitar legend Dick Dale, taking part in a DVD/Television special in the Saigon Broadcasting Television Network for the DVD release of "Hung Ca Su Viet"
 She still remains teaching on a consistent basis out of two schools and private lessons for all ages during the week.
As of January of this year, Margot is a proud endorsee of Super-Sensitive Strings both Sensicore and Pinnacle.
Keep looking for the upcoming solo EP to be released, Margot's music is on the rise!
